Hello everyone, sorry for not posting here sooner. I have been focused on my Google Classrooms and figuring out technology. As I am sure you have all heard, we will not be back to school until April 27th. I will be sharing the next unit and assignments after this weekend. Our next unit is going to be over Rome. We will have a similar set up to what we have been doing the past 2 weeks except there will be some live classes taught on Zoom. I am still figuring this out and will be teaching 8th grade Algebra with it this week and hopefully launching it with the 6th graders next week. If you have any questions contact me at my school email of [email protected]. Stay safe!

Both social studies classes earned a class period of board/card games. We will be playing this Friday and everyone is welcome to bring in a favorite board game or cards to play for the period. No electronics are allowed nor computers!
We are wrapping up China and the test will be Wednesday, 2/12/20. Students have had the study guide since Thursday of last week and I told them that the test is the study guide just formatted differently. There will be a map to label some important features of China, vocabulary fill in the blanks and a few, "answer with complete sentences" questions.
The test over Ancient India will be next Thursday January 23, 2020. Study Guides and notes will be going home today.
We added to our list of study skills
1. Be Present 2. Try 3. Make Connections 4. Stay Organized 5. Ask for Help We also added some tips of our own to the list and then discussed home strategies and tips by reviewing the link https://www.youthcentral.vic.gov.au/study-and-training/help-with-study/how-to-study-better/top-10-study-tips Welcome back after a well deserved and needed winter break. We have begun our next unit on Ancient India and Indus River Valley. As Part of this unit, I will be sharing and discussing study tips and advice and my students will be writing these down on the back of their India notes folder in class. Parents and guardians won't see these until the end of the unit when the notes are brought home to study, so I thought I would share them here. We are going to do a few study tips at the beginning of class on different days throughout the unit. The first three are 1. Be Present, 2. Try your hardest and 3. Make Connections. As time goes on, this list will grow and I will be sharing them on my Blog.
We are wrapping up our study of Ancient Egypt and getting ready for the test next Wednesday.
